It all started in 1993 when Greg and Karlene Currie had the opportunity to purchase a small furniture store just south of Chum’s Corners in Traverse City, MI.

From the beginning, a new way of buying quality furniture began…by “Saving You Money” everyday.  Currie’s doesn’t mislead you with phony sales or fake 50%-70% discounts.  We’re ready when you are, with the lowest prices everyday.

Not stopping there, the Currie’s Furniture brought another great concept to Northern Michigan: Designer-coordinated room settings complete with rugs, lamps and accessories.  The groupings change to reflect the newest styles and the freshest colors, making it easier to decorate your home – while Saving even MORE money with Currie’s Room Packages.

By 1998, business had grown.  Currie’s Furniture doubled the size of the building, remodeled the original half.  A popular saying is “if you build it they will come” – and they did – from all over Northern Michigan.  We now have over 41,000 sq ft of furniture.

In 2016 we built a state of the art 11,000 sq ft warehouse facility, this allows us to serve our customers even better and gives us the largest in-stock inventory warehouse facility in Northwest Michigan.  We are excited about the growth and we are committed to meeting the needs of the Northwest Michigan area for decades to come.
